Here in the States, we’re gearing up for Thanksgiving tomorrow. That means lots of Fattening Foods, Black Friday Sales and Old Family Triggers rising up again. 😀

There was a time when visiting my family every year for the holidays brought anxiety, stress, and overwhelm – BEFORE I even arrived!

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that my alcoholic dad and I had issues for a very long time. I cut him out of my life for over a decade. Not because I didn’t love him, but because every time I was around him, I felt toxic, heavy and hurt. His presence, his way of being, and everything about him triggered in me feelings of not being good enough, disgust, and shame.

Holiday gatherings were never fun, peaceful Norman Rockwell types of paintings, they were more like a hyper-vigilant, defensive game of dodgeball, with me trying to dodge emotional bullets all night long.

Before he died, we reconciled our relationship in a miraculous way and I was able to find deep peace, love and appreciation for him, and express it to him while he was alive, and I’m so thankful for that.

Before my dad died, I didn’t know how to masterfully transmute all the painful energy I was feeling. I didn’t know how to move it, shift it and dissolve it. I wish I had known then what I know now because perhaps my relationship with my dad would have been amended long before the 3 short months he had left to live once we discovered our karmic cord and found peace together.

And that’s why I want to share with you, dear soul, a guided energy healing technique that I taught at a Shift Network event a while back.

It’s one of a myriad of ways to transmute energy. This one in particular is about moving old, trapped energy from a painful past circumstance, something you haven’t been able to get through yet, something that continues to trigger you – especially when you see or think about the person who was involved.

In this example, I talk openly about my pain with my dad.

If you’ve ever been curious about energy healing and how it works, you’ll catch a glimpse here in this short exercise.

If you’re headed to a family gathering tomorrow or this weekend, try doing this exercise before you go.

Or if you’re triggered in the moment while everyone’s gathered around the dinner table, excuse yourself, walk calmly to the bathroom, lock yourself in, and do the exercise. I won’t tell anyone. 😉

If you’re not headed to a family gathering but want to dissolve old stuck, painful energy, try it too!

I’d love to see how it works for you.

In gratitude,
