There’s the old proverb, “all good things must come to an end,” and while that’s true for my old website, which crossed the virtual rainbow bridge today, it’s not true for you and me, and our ongoing spiritual journey together.
FindYourInnerHappy.com was born out of a deep desire to help people find happiness within themselves, to stop searching outside of themselves for validation, justification and worth, and to start looking inward for the true manna of life.
On March 25, 2014, I registered the domain name and set out on a mission to make this desire a reality. Armed with nothing else but a firm belief in my dream (and absolutely zero technical ability on how to build a website, how to create courses and how to do the 5 million things you need to learn how to do when you’re just starting out on a mission to change the world), I told myself that if I could help just one person look inward for their joy rather than outward, I would’ve fulfilled my purpose.
Seven years later, my little dream has helped thousands. From my readers, to the students of my courses, to the members of my membership and to my private coaching clients, your new and improved life is proof that my dream has become a reality.
And now it’s time for a new and improved dream.
Like you and your life (and undoubtedly your own dreams), my dream has evolved too.
I have been working fervently on a new website (the very site you’re on now) and an expanded vision to help even more people in a deeper, more transformative way. Because times change. People change.
If 2020 hasn’t proven that, I don’t know what will.
The way we were showing up prior to our world’s upheaval last year is no longer the best way to show up in our present reality now. While it might’ve worked (or not) back then, we are now ushering in a new era, a new energy, a new calling, and with that new era must come a new way of being, of thinking, feeling and behaving. And for those of you who feel the deep yearning to help others, of serving.
In essence, we’re evolving.
2020 has demanded this of us. For many, we’ve gone willingly. But for many others, we’ve clung tightly, desperately trying to remain where we were, like this:

Yet, expansion and change is inevitable.
It’s time to let go.
For all of last year, I’ve been saying we’re living in exciting energetic times, and that this is a time of ascension. Ascension means different things to different people, but for the purposes here, let’s simply consider its basic meaning, which is “to rise”.
Rise to your soul’s purpose.
Rise to the calling of your Higher Self.
Rise to the light inside you.
In order to rise, you must be willing to release that which holds you down. If you’re clinging on to old habits and patterns of thinking and belief systems, you can’t rise above them unless you let go, release your grip on them. In essence, they’re not holding you down, you’re holding yourself down by holding onto them.
Here are some common limiting beliefs for empaths and sensitive souls:
- I’m empathic, I feel everyone’s emotions and it’s exhausting.
- I need to protect my energy from others.
- I can’t control how I feel, it’s just how I feel.
- I don’t know my purpose.
- I get drained by other people’s negativity.
- I’m over-emotional, that’s just the way I am.
- What impact can I have, I’m just one person.
- Who am I to think I can make a difference.
- Who am I to think I can be truly happy.
- I’m weak, broken and damaged.
If you find yourself saying or thinking any of these, recognize that it’s an old limiting pattern of thought that’s keeping you stuck. If you let go of your attachment and belief in these statements, you just might rise above them long enough to find solutions and answers to them, freeing you to become who you really came here to be.
You are a force of light in this world, you came here to shine your light so brightly that others naturally rise up to meet you and recognize the brightness in themselves. You did not come here to imagine invisible force fields around you to protect you from negative energy, nor did you come here to cocoon yourself and live in doubt, fear and darkness.
Rise up, you beautiful, bright soul, you.
Lift yourself out of the old ways.
Become the force of light you were created to be and shine your heart’s expansive love on the world.
There’s a reason you love so much.
There’s a reason you feel so deeply.
There’s a reason you hurt so profoundly.
It’s not because you’re too sensitive or have too much empathy or care too much.
These are your gifts, to help you shine your light.
Say goodbye to those old paradigms of being “not enough” and “too much”. It’s time to rise up into your own power.
It’s time to embrace your empathic awakening.
It’s time to ascend.

To your radiant life,
Tree
RITUAL TO RELEASE THE OLD AND USHER IN THE NEW

In my personal process of letting go of the old, I lovingly witnessed sadness and grief arising within me for the releasing of the old, and also fear and doubt for the uncertainty of the new, as well as inspiration and excitement for the emergence of what’s to come. I allowed them all to be expressed freely and thanked the emotions for flowing life force energy through me. I also turned to burning sage, which is a ritual I often practice when transitioning from one energetic space to another.
In western societies, it’s not uncommon to hear of burning sage to remove negative and old energy from a physical location, such as when you move into a new home. But in many other cultures, the burning of herbs, including sage, is a ritual for many other things, including connecting to the divine, offering prayers and thanks to the heavens, releasing soul contracts, cutting energetic cords, purifying space for renewed energy, and much more.
I used the White Sage Smudge Stick, by the beautiful folks at Shamans Market. The bundle is thick and solid enough in your hand to feel like some substantial purification is taking place, yet the smoke wasn’t overpowering or intense. And while I’m not one to go totally “woo” with ritualistic practices, I decided to go all out and let my inner shaman play.
I went outside and laid out alternating pieces of Mayan Copal Resin Incense and Palo Santo Incense Sticks in a circle, creating a sacred spiral around me, signifying the infinite nature of our growth and evolution, along with our oneness with the Universe, with no beginning and no end. Then I lit the smudge stick and danced a primal dance as I waved the smoking bundle to the heavens and allowed my body to move as freely as it felt without judgment or restriction.
Fortunately, I live on top of a mountain and there are no neighbors to see me, or else they might’ve called the cops in fear of the crazy wild woman gyrating like a banshee and sending strange smoke signals at the top of the mountain.
But regardless of what the neighbors might think, creating a ritual practice for yourself is a great way to unify the body, mind and spirit in alignment when you’re shifting into a new space, whether it’s a new job, a new home, a new belief system or a new spiritual journey.
I recently discovered the Shamans Market, a conscious soul-centered company with fair and ethically traded products as well as a wealth of knowledge about the sacred arts of indigenous communities. I love them so much, I became an affiliate, and am happy to refer their products to you. If you need ideas for creating a personal ritual for yourself, browse their site and become inspired.
